Summer reading

Well the dog days of summer will soon be here if not already here. Many of us will take vacation and go somewhere fun and exciting or will just set at home do things around the house. Either way you will have down time to read.

While always one to never trust government, their are a couple of books that helped me in understanding what government is and the people running it are.

Atlas Shrugged and The FountainHead by Ayn Rand we very instrumental in shaping my political philosophy. I read them shortly after graduating high school, I never darkened the doors of college. They are long books but wellworth the time. Atlas Shrugged in particular was profetic. The people that supported the state over individualism are much of what we see today. In fact some of the meme’s / statements by the takers are word for word what we hear today justify their ideology of human ownership and the resulting violence and theft.

My favorite free thinking writer is Murray Rothbard. I like books that challenge my way of thinking and I like authors that are direct about the subject. Murray Rothbard is very direct and to the point. He does not mince words. If I want a word salad I’ll listen to Joe Biden, Kamala Harris or other flim flam artist politicians.

My favorite Rothbard book is Anatomy of the State. I have snet the link for the free download of this 60 page long book to those that are freeom lovers and those that are not. The only thing I ask them to do is put out of their mind everything they believe and think about government. Read it with an open mind.

Anatomy of the State brings it home as to what government truly is.
